Dr Zahra Goolamabbas

Anaesthetic Core Trainee

 Zahra qualified from Liverpool Medical School in 2016 with an additional Masters in Humanitarian Studies from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. She is now a Core Anaesthetic Trainee in Brighton and has a lot of Sim experience learning and teaching about emergency situations.

Anaesthetic Emergencies

This session will address:

  • Discuss the ‘Can’t Intubate, Can’t Oxygenate (CICO)’ scenario & its management (including DAS guidelines)

  • Discuss the anaesthetic drug emergencies (eg. Malignant Hyperthermia, Sux Apnoea & Anaphylaxis) and briefly how they are managed

  • Cover the causes, recognition & treatment of Laryngospasm
